今天我們用一道托福經(jīng)典task 1人物題來看看細(xì)節(jié)在考試中扮演的角色。
“Describe the person whom you enjoy spending time with. Use specific examples and details to support your answer.”
當(dāng)你看到下面這句話時(shí)，你會(huì)不會(huì)產(chǎn)生共鳴? “我最喜歡跟我的閨蜜在一起，因?yàn)樗顺?jí)好!” “人超級(jí)好”是什么概念呢?有些人覺得只要朋友接他電話就是超級(jí)好，而另一些人則覺得必須隨叫隨到鞍前馬后才叫好。
每個(gè)人的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是如此的不同，你如何用讓托�？脊賹�(duì)你的 “他人超級(jí)好”產(chǎn)生共鳴呢?在此，細(xì)節(jié)就起到了至關(guān)重要的作用。也就是每一個(gè)托福獨(dú)立口語題后面的: use specific examples and details to support your answer. 下面我們一一分析:
1. 細(xì)節(jié)在托福task1, task 2中扮演的角色: 靈魂。沒有細(xì)節(jié)就沒有高分!!
2. 細(xì)節(jié)出現(xiàn)的位置:第三步。 上過我課的學(xué)生會(huì)知道，在回答一二題時(shí)我們有個(gè)三步曲:
1) 第一步：開頭點(diǎn)題- The person I like to spend time with is my best friend Caroline.
2) 第二步：給出原因- Because she is encouraging/ we share the same interests.
3) 細(xì)節(jié)
很多學(xué)生會(huì)止于第二步。在原因那個(gè)步驟中羅列很多: She is funny, humorous, warm-hearted,etc. 盡管如此，想得good仍然很難，因?yàn)樯倭说谌�，答案便少了靈魂。
3. 細(xì)節(jié)分類:
1) 例子: 正如題目中所說use actual examples and details.所以例子是最好的細(xì)節(jié).
Eg. She is encouraging. In 2013 we went hiking together in the north of Spain. 30 kilometers per day for me was really a challenge and I wanted to quit several times along the way. She never blamed on me, instead she sang and described the beautiful destination for me. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have arrived.
2) 結(jié)果：即第二步的原因引出了哪些result, consequence.
Eg. Thanks to the common interests we share, like playing basketball, watching movies and reading, I never get the sense of loneliness. Besides, with such a good companion, I enjoy more of all the activities we do together.
3) 原因：與第二點(diǎn)基本一致。僅有的不同是連接詞的不同，第二點(diǎn)中主要用so that, in this way, as a result, consequently, etc. 而在這一點(diǎn)中主要用because, due to the fact, as, for, since等。
4) 反證法:如果學(xué)生實(shí)在無法想到積極方面的細(xì)節(jié)，可以從反方向著手，說相反觀點(diǎn)的不好：
例如: We share so many interests, like watching movies and go shopping. I can’t even imagine how boring and lonely it would be to do all the stuff without her. There wouldn’t be anyone listening to my gossip about the movie bugs and no one together to comment on how the fashion has left us behind. Life would be such a drag.
有了細(xì)節(jié)以后，考官即使不完全share the same feeling with you,但是卻可以理解為什么你有這樣的想法。

To start with, she is really an encouraging person. I remember in 2013 we went hiking together in the north of Spain for two weeks. 30 kilometers per day for me was really a challenge and I wanted to quit several times along the way. She never blamed on me, instead she sang and described the beautiful destination to cheer me up. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have arrived.
Besides, we share a lot of common interests like playing basketball, watching movies and reading. We would gossip about the movie actors afterwards or discuss about the fashion trends. I never get the sense of loneliness. Besides, with such a good companion, I enjoy more of all the activities we do together.
