  英語(yǔ)童話(huà)故事之葉公好龍 2

Long ago in the Kingdom of Chen, lived a man named Ye Gong. He had a passion for dragons that was unmatched in his realm. His walls were adorned with paintings of majestic dragons, his tables were covered with carvings of flying dragons, and even his clothes were embroidered with images of these mythical creatures. Ye Gongs obsession with dragons was so profound that he spoke of them with reverence and awe, dreaming of the day he would meet a real dragon.

One fateful day, his wishes were granted. A powerful dragon, hearing of Ye Gongs admiration, decided to visit him. The dragon soared down from the heavens, its scales shimmering in the sun, its eyes blazing with fire. The creatures arrival caused a stir in the kingdom, and Ye Gong was ecstatic.

However, when the dragon arrived at Ye Gongs mansion, the mans reaction was not what the dragon had expected. Instead of greeting the dragon with joy, Ye Gong was terrified. He trembled in fear, his face pale, and his heart pounding. He hid behind his servants, screaming and pleading for the dragon to leave.

The dragon, confused and hurt, asked Ye Gong why he was so afraid. Ye Gong explained that although he loved dragons in his stories and paintings, he had never imagined meeting a real one. He said that the power and magnificence of the dragon were too overwhelming, and he could not bear to be in its presence.

The dragon, realizing that Ye Gongs love for him was only skin-deep, sighed sadly and flew away. Ye Gongs neighbors heard the commotion and came to investigate. When they learned what had happened, they laughed at Ye Gong, calling him a hypocrite for his pretended love of dragons.

And so, the story of Ye Gong and his love for dragons spread throughout the kingdom, becoming a cautionary tale of those who profess their love for something but shrink back when faced with its true nature. Ye Gong learned a valuable lesson that day: true love and admiration go beyond surface appearances and require courage and understanding.
